Distilling Techniques and Analysis with Henric Molin and Scott Allen

American Distilling Institute and Spirit of Hven Distillery (https://www.hven.com/en/start) are proud to announce a European Union based two day Hands on Class!

Spirit of Hven is a world class distillery (https://www.hven.com/en/) which manufactures a wide range of spirits with pot, column and vacuum distillation. Their facility includes a full analytical QC lab with GC/Mass Spec analysis of spirits, conference center, hotel, and restaurant.

Two days of instruction are being offered in Recipe Design, Pot Still Whiskey, Column Distillation Gin/Vodka, QC Analysis, Packaging Design, Compliance, and Chemical Engineering

The main instructors are Henik Molin and Scott Allen

The groups could be divided into two groups during some parts of the days.

Day 1 22nd of September

Lunch

Introduction, Key Note speaker, Erik introduces and Henric follows up…

Let the participants know that questions that come up during the days can be asked at any time and that there will be a panel in the end for more questions

Whole group: Panel talk, Erik, Scott, Henric

Different Distillation techniques, use the right equipment for the kind of spirit you are going to distill

Coffee Break

Whole group: Panel talk, Henric and maybe a distiller that have bought a recipe and starting their production out of that (we have clients to ask)

Tour in the distillery and the lab to see how it can look in Sweden or anywhere  else in the world

Free time

Dinner; Buffé, time for mingling and maybe some games or other fun thing to do during the evening to get the group to relax and enjoy themselves and share experiences.

 

Day 2 23nd of September

Breakfast

Startup of the day, introduction

Whole group: Health and Safety, We work with food stuff that means Hygiene is a key word to get a good product in the end

Two groups: Participants have to pick which one they will be attending:

Hands on production: 1) Pot still Distilling, whisky   2)Column Distilling, Gin & Vodka

There will be given a chance to have a coffee brake during the session since it will be 2 hours long

Lunch

Two groups: Participants have to pick which one they will be attending:

Practical knowledge: 1) Get an inside view of the lab work 2) What to think about when you design your bottle, choose labels, closures and other thing before you product reach the shelves in the stores

Whole group: Compliance and chemical engineering

There will be given a chance to have a coffee brake during the session since it will be 2 hours long

Day 3 24th of September

Whole group: Question Panel, short questions – quick answers

Diploma session, certificates will be given out for being part of the classes, Gift Bag
