ADI Veteran Group meeting (Distillery and Suppliers) and those veterans wanting to become involved in the group.
Mission Statement
The Veteran Distillers Group is dedicated to empowering military veterans in the craft spirits industry by fostering a supportive community, providing valuable resources, and promoting the unique contributions of veteran distillers. Our mission is to connect, educate, and advocate for veteran distillers, ensuring their success and celebrating their service and craftsmanship.
Membership Criteria
- Current Member of ADI
- Military veterans who are involved in distilling craft spirits.
- Active duty members transitioning to civilian life with an interest in distilling.
- Allies and supporters who want to support veteran distillers.
Governance and Structure
- Establish a clear governance structure to manage the group effectively:
- Form a board of directors or advisory committee consisting of veteran distillers and industry experts.
- Define roles and responsibilities for leadership positions.
- Set up bylaws and guidelines for operation.
Programs and Initiatives
- Quarterly Meetings: 3 virtual meetings a year with 1 in-person meeting at ADI conference.
- Mentorship Program: Pair new or aspiring distillers with experienced veterans for guidance and support.
- Workshops and Seminars: Offer educational sessions on distillation techniques, business management, marketing, and compliance.
- Networking Events: Host events where members can connect, share experiences, and collaborate.
- Recognition and Awards: Create an awards program to honor outstanding contributions by veteran distillers.
Community Building
- Online Forum or Social Media Group: Provide a platform for members to communicate, share advice, and support each other.
- Newsletters: Send regular updates featuring member stories, industry news, and upcoming events.
