ADI’s International Spirits Competition is proud to name Nate Randall our 2024 Rising Star in Distilling
Nate Randall is the co-owner and head distiller of Hinterhaus Distilling in Arnold, California. Randall transition to distilling from work in the corporate world and since founding Hinterhaus in 2020, they has experienced significant growth in the success of the business and in the number of spirits they produce. Randall began with distilling vodka from local grapes and laying down barrels of American Single Malt whiskey. By the end of 2023, Randall had expanded the Hinterhaus product line to include around a dozen spirits, including two whiskeys, two gins, a vodka, and several limited edition small batch items. He produces their spirits on a 20-plate column still, utilizing carefully sourced local ingredients around their Sierra Nevada location. His craftsmanship has earned accolades for their North Grove Vodka earning a Double Gold Medal being named the Best American Distilled Vodka at their ADI’s 2021 International Spirits Competition. Randall’s American Single Malt, South Grove Gin, and wine cask finished bourbons have also received high praise. His commitment to excellence and innovation have been instrumental in Hinterhaus’ success. Along with his success, Randall has also been willing to share his skills with his fellow distillers. His award-winning spirits and integrity reflect his remarkable journey and dedication to the craft. Because of all of this the American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition named Randall our 2024 Rising Star in Distilling.
