Railean Distillers Opens Tasting Room

Railean Distillers announced today that they have officially opened their tasting room to the general public. Railean Distillers has been offering free tours of their rum distillery for over two years, however until recently they have been prohibited by the TABC from offering tastings. This all changed on May 13, 2009, when Governor Rick Perry signed legislation HB1974 which allows Texas distilleries to serve free samples on their licensed premises of the distilled spirits that they produce.

“This is a big win for RAILEAN Distillers and for all Texas spirits manufactures, said Kelly Railean, Proprietor, Railean Distillers, LLC. With the passage of this bill, we will begin making tourism a significant part of our business. We have officially opened our tasting room and now offer ½ ounce servings of each type of RAILEAN Rum. With each tasting we also serve a sample of Mrs. Gatti’s Gourmet Texas Rum Cakes made with RAILEAN Rum. We hope to have our gift shop open before the holidays where customers can purchase RAILEAN Rum t-shirts, hats, and shot glasses.”
