WORKSHOP: Vodka History, Production, Trends and Tasting

Vodka is the most difficult spirit to distill, with grain to glass vodka being a truly undervalued spirit in the craft industry. This misunderstood spirit has a vast flavor profile and subtle nuance which is to be respected.

Caley Shoemaker began her career at Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey in 2008, then transitioned to Master Distiller and General Manager at The Hangar 1 Distillery in Alameda, CA where she spent 6 years managing operations and developing unique spirts. Caley currently serves as the Master Distiller and General Manager at Altar Spirits and offers craft spirits consulting with the Desert Sage Group.

This 3 hour class will cover the history, production, and consumer trends of vodka and includes a tasting and discussion of various vodka expressions.
