iI 2018 ADI launched the Distilling Research Grant, a 501c3 whose mission is to fund research into craft distilling. A yearly online auction will be held every September to November, with sponsors donating materials that any distillery can use. The DRG also accepts proposal for research during this same time period, and an Advisory Council was set up to disperse the funds.
