What Is Sponsored Content?

Sponsored content is content that is produced by your company to support your own internal campaign goals, but run on Distiller Magazine’s website just like a Distiller print story. Sponsored content is clearly marked with a disclaimer at the header. 

Companies are responsible for writing up to 500 words of their own sponsored content, and providing photography. Sponsored content goes through Distiller’s editorial process, including copy editing and fact checking, but you will have the chance to review all edits and sign off on the final version of your post.

Sponsored Content Must:

  • Be relevant to an audience of beverage alcohol professionals
  • Be factually accurate
  • Provide real editorial value to readers
  • Be written in a professional tone
  • Adhere to Distiller Magazine’s style guide (Distiller editorial staff can help with this)

Sponsored Content Should Not:

  • Be overtly political
  • Be direct sales pitches
  • Focus on topics not directly relevant to the profession of craft distilling
  • Make misleading or false claims
  • Disparage other companies
  • Be personal in nature

Some Examples for Inspiration

  • Results of an internal company study, research, or experiment
    • “The impact of barrel toast on vanillin development”
  • A white paper demonstrating the results of a new product
    • “Consumer surveys indicate shoppers reach for custom glass 125% more frequently than stock bottle”
  • A profile of or interview with a client that reveals how they use your product and/or the impact it has had on their business
    • “How Acme Distillery doubled tasting room bottle sales with advanced staff training.”  
  • Sharing insight or expertise from within your field:
    • “The three most common mistakes in label design, according to a senior designer at ABC Label Company.” 
    • “How to run a malted barley sensory panel”

Details

All sponsored content will run on Distilling.com/magazine, with a prominently displayed disclosure at the top of the post that reads “This is a sponsored post from [YOUR COMPANY NAME]”.

Content is subject to review by our Editorial Staff who will indicate if revisions are needed.
