Brett Steigerwaldt is the head distiller for Windon Distilling Company, the home of LYON RUM, in St Michaels, Maryland. He is committed to exploring how distilling can solve real world problems and strengthen communities, such as his volunteer work with DomSetCo in Dominica. He holds a BSc and MSc in mechanical engineering and is currently completing his second MSc in brewing and distilling (Heriot-Watt 2023), where he is investigating novel fermentation techniques to create organoleptically complex rums with minimal additional process complexity.
